Our accreditation Process
Full audit and accreditation
By bringing together the best technical auditing with a comprehensive disabled user testing programme, Shaw Trust offers a robust audit and accreditation service which involves:- A full technical audit of your website, using the highest standard of automated software
- A manual investigation into all identified areas of concern – picking up all noncompliances that some automated testing alone doesn’t
- Full user-testing - every inaccessible element of a website will not always be highlighted by a regular technical audit
- A detailed yet easy to understand report which includes screen shots of issues, accompanied by the user testers’ comments, the technical auditors comments, the checkpoint against which it fails and advice and recommendations for correcting the issue
- Advice and guidance throughout the 6 month remedial process and re-testing of the website upon completion
- Award of our prestigious web accessibility badge
- Consultancy on any sites you have in development
Come and spend the day with us
Why not visit and spend the day with our user testing team during the testing of your website? This has proven very popular with our clients as they can see first hand how we can improve disability access to an otherwise nonaccessible website or application.
A snapshot of the accessibility report
Our Accessibility Audit Report combines manual and technical auditing. This guarantees accurate feedback on accessibility barriers that have been identified during the user-testing process. Each section includes a qualifying statement of 'pass', 'fail' or 'warning' to help identify which parts of your site need the most urgent attention.

Shaw Trust is introducing SortSite - an automated accessibility testing tool from PowerMapper Software as part of their web accessibility services. PowerMapper Software is providing licenses and consultancy as part of their commitment to giving back to the community.
Our understanding of the potential barriers was greatly enhanced by visiting the testing centre in Wales, where we able to speak with the testers and ask questions during the testing process - I would highly recommend this optional part of the service.
Following our accessibility report, we were considerably impressed by the level of customer service shown by Shaw Trust. When we needed further clarification, or when we had any additional accessibility queries, these were handled both efficiently and professionally without us once feeling that it was any trouble."
